Let’s just start with what happened on Friday:

Delightful as the above chart is to me, I’ve been doing this since 1987, so I don’t look and such an event and assume it’s just going to keep sliding. This was a mid-sized shock event, and with the entirety of the weekend to backpedal, the administration has done just that.

There’s no video clip here, but I just find this thumbnail to be amusing, particularly with the (VERY former) Money Honey featured on the left, to say nothing of ol’ J.D.

Look, no matter what your disposition is to our current President - - whether you think he is evil incarnate or if you think he is the second son of God - - I think you would have to be clinically insane to agree with the proposition, “His Word Is His Bond.” Every shred of empirical data points to the irrefutable fact that his word means absolutely zilch, which means that a declaration on Friday that China will suffer 100% tariffs, etc., etc. is about to eternal as a mayfly on its deathbed.
